Anyone who knows me knows that I love food, I love to cook it and I love to eat it even more! So, it is no surprise that I would feature a food category in my “12 Days of Favorite Things Giveaway” this year. Many of you may have heard that I have recently been trying out the Paleo diet plan. Simply put, this means no grains, no sugar, no dairy… So basically, almost all of my usual favorite foods are off limits. One thing I can still have that I love are almonds, cocoa dusted almonds! The ingredients do not seem to indicate that there is sugar involved, but who knows I could’ve been cheating this whole time. Either way I have lost close to 6lbs so far and these little almonds have helped me through a lot of hungry moments, especially when those hunger pains were requesting a sweet treat! The dark cocoa dusted almonds, made by Blue Diamond (there are other brands but these are by far the best), are crunchy and just sweet enough to stave off any sugar craving. I would say that they are far and away my favorite healthy food discovery this year and I am glad to share their deliciousness with all of my readers.

Now for those of you that are not dieting and want to go all the way to sugar bliss heaven, I have another favorite thing to share… Serendipity Frozen Hot Chocolate! This is not a new discovery but one that always brings immense joy when I travel. Serendipity3, originally located on East 60th Street in Manhattan, is a small restaurant that many of you may be familiar with because of the aptly titled movie “Serendipity”. Their signature dessert, Frozen Hot Chocolate, is featured in the movie and having experienced it in real life, it is everything it’s cracked up to be! It is rich and chocolatey, icy and grainy from the mass amounts of the special cocoa mixture that makes it so delicious… It is quite simply chocolate heaven in an old fashioned ice cream goblet. If you can’t make it to New York City you can also try this fantastic treat in Washington, D.C. or Las Vegas… Or you can even order packets online and try to duplicate this chocolate nirvana in the comfort of your own home.

Today’s lucky winner will be able to try both the healthy and not so healthy sides of chocolate bliss this holiday season… And that lucky person is JerriAnn Dudley!

Congratulations JerriAnn! Check back tomorrow for more prizes, you could be the lucky winner!
